I’m getting the travel itch again. I would like to go back to Amsterdam, Switzerland and Italy, but there are just so many places I haven’t visited yet. I would like to do a 2-3 weeks visit of Germany, Austria and Prague. I also would like to feel relaxed and be pampered on a cruise. There’s just so many options, but not enough time and money.
I was looking through my old photos I realize I haven’t posted up anything from my trip to Paris. We stayed just about a week in Paris. We got a little lazy and didn’t visit any other cities in France. It was a wonderful experience. We took so many photos and sorting them out was overwhelming. For now here are our food photos during our stay in Paris.
We stayed at the Rue Cler area so most of our food photos are taken at restaurants around the neighborhood. I loved staying at Rue Cler because of its walking distance to the Eiffel tower and the cute cobbled stone neighborhood.
Our first meal was the “special crepe” at Creperie Ulysee en Gaule.
Our favorite crepe was the nutella and banana crepe.
The first night I had a french onion soup at an Italian restaurant playing spanish music.
We had the most delicious and richest hot chocolate in Angelina’s, which is just a few blocks away from the Louvre. I was at first hesitant because of the negative comments mentioned in tripadvisor. When we arrived the wait time wasn’t very long, and the service polite. The only negative I can think of was that our server demanded we pay right away even before we started sipping our hot chocolate. We ended up paying about 30 euros for our African hot chocolate and 2 desserts.
We had a baguette before we visited Versailles
We had a delicious dinner at Le Bosquet in Rue Cler. We loved the food and service in that place that we returned for a second meal. Unfortunately we didn’t take photos the second time we went there. The servers were very friendly and helped us with the menu. The place really gets really busy if you come late in the evening.
I love Mark’s concentration on his escargot.
If you have the time you must visit Bastille market on Thursday and Sunday. Fresh fruits, vegetables, meat and seafood are artistically displayed. You really feel like you’re in a foreign country as you watch the locals interact. You can buy food to munch on as you walk around. I advise you to come early because it usually ends around 1 pm.
We had lunch at Le Florimond. It’s a cute restaurant just across the street from our hotel. I loved the warm and inviting decor. The food was delicious and the servers friendly and helpful. We seriously needed help, since we didn’t bring a food dictionary.
We had lunch at Le P’tit Troquet with a Prix fix meal for 20 euros. However the dessert was not included with the prix fixe and must be ordered separately.
Since we didn’t always have time to sit down for a real dinner, I leave you this picture of Mark ordering in McDonalds.
Photos were taken with Canon 7D using Canon 24mm f/1.4 lens, canon 17-55mm f/2.8 and Canon 50mm f/1.4 lens.
